What should I backup my system before restoring the factory settings?
HP online technician asked me to ply my HP Pavilion dv6500 to factory settings in order to solve a few problems I have today. One of the problems is through an SD card and the second photo question is to use RAM abnormnal high when no programs are running. In summary, HP told me to do and I'm nervous that I will lose all programs I have now. I'm most worried about my Microsoft Office 2007, which was installed in the machine store. I have no original disk and am hoping someone can give me an idea on how to make backups to the programs I installed after purchase of the notebook. I'm not concerned about document files, it can easily save the flash drivers. I'm concerned with programs like Microsoft Office. Thanks
Most restore factory settings to end the drive drive, which includes all data and programs. This is an extreme step to solving a problem and from my experience that HP is quick to go. But if you're going to move forward, there are key things you want to backup: – All personal files. All doc, jpg, avi, etc you want to do a backup. This should also include their documents and settings profile, if possible as this will save you having to set up your profile again. – There is no way faithful to a backup program as they tend to put files everywhere. If you have a valid Microsoft Office 2007 key may be able to ask the media to them (for a small fee.) Otherwise, I would advise asking friends or at work if they have the media only for Office 2007 that you can borrow and install it with the key ITS product. If you paid someone or a shop to install the application (s) and have all the media should be able to communicate with them. – Probably would be good to keep a list of all programs that were installed so you can install once the cleaning occurs. Honestly, I would like to avoid any thing that could end all your stuff and find an alternative in advance.
